When our team was asked to work with the WCSG Committee to design a space that would welcome delegates and VIPs before the opening ceremonies our first inspiration came from the games logo and the athletes themselves.  We wanted to create an elegant space fitting the tenor of the reception that was designed out of athletic inspired materials which would combine to showcase these one-of-a-kind games.

Guests were welcomed to the event via red carpet topped with spandex arches overlapping one another in a non-symmetrical way to set the tone for the energetic design that awaited guests inside the ballroom.

The stage had the event colours moving dramatically across the backdrop to create a sense of excitement and energy at the event.

To create a sense of energy in the space our team designed the stage backdrop as well as two 12ft layered spandex towers and had them lit in the games logo colours.  The luminous effect was stunning in the space and created the right balance between elegance and athleticism that the committee was hoping to achieve.

To further carry forward the branding the committee wished to include at the event our team had occasional tables ‘tattooed’ with the Game On logo and placed them beside white leather ottomans for some soft seating in the Shell Place ballroom.  Making sure the guests had comfortable places to rest drinks while they networked, a series of pub tables were dressed in double layers of multi-coloured spandex tops with cutouts that were a unique touch that married well with the overall design.

Floral vessels weren’t forgotten in the branding either.  Game on decals were applied to floral vessels throughout the ballroom.
